008 — CONCEPT
Modern South Indian Home Concept
A client mood board concept exploring what a modern South Indian home could look like in Guwahati. The challenge was to translate a deeply rooted regional aesthetic into a contemporary 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home - without losing the warmth, craft, and cultural richness that defines South Indian interiors.
The material palette anchors the concept - teak and dark wood elements bring structure and depth, brass and copper accents add warmth and a sense of artisanal detail, and terracotta tones run through the spaces as a quiet constant. A cream and off-white base palette keeps the interiors feeling light and modern, allowing the earthy accents to breathe and the handcrafted decor elements to stand out.
Traditional patterns and motifs are woven into the design across all spaces - from the living room to the kitchen, bedrooms to bathrooms - ensuring the South Indian identity is felt throughout rather than applied as an afterthought.
