Assamese Bungalow — Traditional Residential Concept
A concept residence rooted in the rich visual language of Assam. The intent was straightforward - bring traditional Assamese aesthetics into a contemporary home without diluting either. The result is a space that feels deeply familiar and entirely fresh at the same time.
The Ikora Ber wall aesthetic runs through the interiors as a foundational design element, grounding the spaces in Assamese architectural tradition. Bamboo and wood dominate the material palette, used across multiple rooms to create warmth, texture, and a sense of organic continuity throughout the home. A live edge dining table anchors the dining space, complemented by cane furniture and bohemian decor that add layers of character without clutter.
The kitchen carries its own signature detail, a custom backsplash featuring traditional Assamese patterns, a quiet but deliberate nod to the craft heritage of the region. Every element, from the walls to the furniture to the finishes, was chosen to tell the same story - of a home that knows exactly where it comes from.
